Focusing On Life 52 Photos- Week 2 ~ Illustrate Your Word For the Year

Week 2 of our photographic journey of 52 weeks of photo prompts.
This week's prompt is to illustrate our word for the year.
Funny, I have never chosen a word for the year like I have seen so many people do, but decided to pick one for this year.

My word for the year is reconnect.
You can read all about the importance of that word for me in my New year's blog post here.
To illustrate it my first thoughts were to find an image of an actual connection, like electrical but then I had the idea for the card, to signify corresponding and reconnecting to family and friends and all that is important to me.

Head on over to The Studio Sublime to see what everyone elses word for the year is and how they photographed them.

P.S. I will be out of town when this posts and will visit everyone as soon as I return!

  1. What a wonderful word for the year. Growing up our family connected with friends, neighbors, and members of our church every weekend in the form of gatherings or card parties etc. When my husband and I married we carried on this tradition for many years. But since the arrival of so many electronic gadgets and games, and the attempt to have children in every sport or activity available we have found this connecting with friends looks to be a think of the past. I sure miss it, but I'm glad I have all my blog friends to connecti with!

  5. Alice above touched on something in her comments...the "electronics". As easy as it should be to stay connected, it seems emails, especially, are sent for the smallest of messages. My telephone hardly ever rings anymore! I miss cards and letters. Your post is resonating with me. I hope you reconnect this year..I hope I do, too!

  11. I like this word. Connections get lost over time and distance, and this word gives you the power to reestablish them, to make new ones. And it will also give you a support system for pursuing your next dreams. I wish you joy in the journey in 2013. Enjoy the day. Erin

How did that happen?? I hope all is well on your end and that 2013 will bring much happiness, good health, and many fun adventures. xoxo
